Bachelor of science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry.
What are your particular clinical interests and why?
I am interested in preventative medicine to improve my future patients’ quality of life. I believe that efficient preventive care may be part of the solution to addressing healthcare disparities.
What inspired you to pursue a career in family medicine?
I chose family medicine after recognizing, personally and through my community, the healthcare disparities that impact minority populations. I am passionate about working with underserved communities and envision incorporating advocacy and patient education as an integral part of my medical practice.
Why did you choose the Community Based Family Medicine Residency program?
I chose the Community-Based Family Medicine Residency program because of the opportunity to care for the underserved patient population. Additionally, I love the city of San Antonio and am excited about the opportunity to give back to the community.During my interview, I felt the program had a positive and inclusive work environment, and I am happy to join the team.

The UIWSOM Spirit award: The Spirit Award recognizes learners that have motivated others to overcome challenges, inspired their peers throughout the DO program, and have lived up to the UIWSOM mission.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of medicine?
In my spare time, my hobbies include Zumba, cycling, and taking walks with my family.
