• The University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Registered Nurse (RN).

What are your particular clinical interests and why?

• Given my clinical background, I am working to improve my clinical competency in cardiopulmonary and musculoskeletal disease, with an emphasis in Sports Medicine.

What inspired you to pursue a career in family medicine?

• Even as a nurse, I always wanted to have a to have a broad clinical competency and be able to address any of my patient’s needs. Family Medicine provides a training across virtually all subspecialties in medicine to include OB/GYN, Infectious Disease, Rehabilitative Medicine and Surgery. Through this broad level of training, my patient’s can feel that all of their needs will be met and make me an asset to my community.

Why did you choose the Community Based Family Medicine Residency program?

• In every aspect of my career, I have sought to serve under-served populations and the Community-Based Family Medicine Residency program is a perfect example of that. Our clinic based model, targets under-served areas and provides a safety net for the community to receive the care they deserve without creating significant barriers to care. We are also partnered with the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine and through our combined efforts have been able to provide significant relief for the city of San Antonio.

What are your hobbies and interests outside of medicine?

• Most of my time outside of work are focused on taking are of my beautiful daughter. We love going to amusement parks and whatever other adventures we can find. When I have time for me, you can usually find me in the gym or practicing the guitar.
