What is your hometown?

  • I am originally from Esfahan, Iran, and I have been proud to call San Antonio home since 2018.

Where did you attend medical school?

  • I earned my medical degree from Azad University, Najafabad Branch, Iran.

What other educational credentials do you have?

  • In addition to my medical education, I completed few years of postdoctoral research training focused on Alzheimer’s disease, neuroimaging, and vascular contributions to cognitive impairment.

What are your particular clinical interests and why?

  • My primary clinical interest is sports medicine. I am particularly interested in working with athletes, helping them recover from injuries safely and efficiently, return to their sport as quickly as possible, and reduce the risk of long-term complications or permanent damage.

What inspired you to pursue a career in family medicine?

  • I enjoy building long-term relationships with my patients and caring for them throughout different stages of their lives. Family medicine gives me the opportunity to identify health problems early, focus on prevention, and help patients stay healthier and reduce their risk of hospitalization.

Why did you choose the Community Based Family Medicine Residency program?

  • I was drawn to the Community-Based Family Medicine Residency because of its strong emphasis on outpatient medicine and its commitment to serving underserved communities in San Antonio. I hope to contribute to reducing healthcare disparities, particularly in the South Side community where we currently serve.

What are your hobbies and interests outside of medicine?

  • Outside of medicine, I enjoy traveling, exploring new places, playing basketball and soccer, and spending time with my family. I also enjoy learning about different cultures and connecting with people from diverse backgrounds. Since making San Antonio my home, I have enjoyed following the San Antonio Spurs and experiencing local traditions such as the San Antonio Rodeo.
