Dr. Daniel Brown D.O.

What is your hometown?
San Antonio, Texas.

Where did you attend medical school?
University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine (UIWSOM).

What other educational credentials do you have?
Bachelor of Science in Nursing – UT Health San Antonio.

What are your particular clinical interests?
Diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia and cardiac issues are particularly important to me. While growing up, I witnessed some close family members deal with these health concerns, and it gave me the desire to be a resource for them and anyone else who needs help. In addition to serving those with chronic medical issues, I also enjoy assisting people with their acute care needs.

What inspired you to pursue a career in Family Medicine?
A family physician has the privilege of walking with people as they make progress and celebrate victories in their life, but also during the hard times as well. Holistically help others with a variety of medical concerns, involving different organ systems is a rewarding opportunity.

Why did you choose the Community-Based Family Medicine Residency program?
I chose the Community-Based FM Residency Program because literally everyone I met in this program was friendly and genuinely interested in getting to know me. I also appreciate how the FQHC model delivers healthcare to our underserved community in San Antonio.

What are your hobbies and interests outside of medicine?
Spending time with my wife and three children. Cheering for my kids at their sporting events. I also enjoy barbecuing with family and friends.
