What are your particular clinical interests and why?
- I am particularly passionate about pediatrics and women’s health. I have experience working with children and I thoroughly enjoy the field of Pediatrics. I am also passionate about women’s health in particular the outpatient aspect.
What inspired you to pursue a career in family medicine?
- My passion for family medicine was sparked during my family medicine clerkship rotation where I was drawn to the diverse and complex cases I encountered. I realized that family medicine offers a unique opportunity to build lasting relationships with patients of all ages and make a profound impact on their health and well-being. As a person of faith, having the opportunity to humbly serve the community is an honor and a privilege. The consistent and enduring presence a family physician offers within a community embodies the spirit of selfless service that my faith inspires.
Why did you choose the Community Based Family Medicine Residency program?
- I chose this program because it clearly demonstrates a commitment to service that aligns perfectly with my own beliefs and values. There is a significant need for healthcare in this region, and I truly admire how this program contributes to meeting the demand. The prospect of serving a diverse patient population is especially appealing as it offers an environment for learning and growth as a physician. The evident camaraderie among the residents also spoke to me, indicative of a supportive and collaborative environment that I could see myself being a part of. My personal ties to San Antonio further strengthen my resolve to contribute meaningfully to this community. I feel blessed to be given the opportunity to make an impact on my community.

This literature review identifies and categorizes specific factors associated with childhood obesity within Hispanic population and identifies potential strategies for future studies aimed towards reducing obesity in children.

What are your hobbies and interests outside of medicine?
- Outside of my medical pursuits I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends. I am also drawn to outdoor activities particularly hiking and camping. I like to express myself through painting, writing poetry and creative homecooked meals. I find peace through daily exercise and yoga.
