What are your particular clinical interests and why?
- I am passionate about full-scope family medicine because it allows me to care for patients across all stages of life, from prenatal and obstetric care to newborns, children, adults, and geriatric patients. My specific clinical interests include preventive medicine, chronic disease management, and women’s health. I enjoy helping patients improve their quality of life by empowering them with the knowledge and resources they need to make informed decisions and take an active role in their health. I am committed to creating a safe and supportive environment where patients feel comfortable seeking treatment for any issues they might have. I believe in a patient-centered approach that promotes long-term wellness and comprehensive care at every stage of life.
What inspired you to pursue a career in family medicine?
- was inspired to pursue a career in family medicine because I witnessed firsthand how important it is to have a physician who truly listens to their patients and integrates care. As a family medicine physician, where I am one of the first providers that patients encounter, I want to help ensure they receive the appropriate care and guidance throughout their health journey, especially during critical moments when early intervention is key. I find it incredibly meaningful to build long-term relationships with patients and their families, supporting them through various life transitions with a focus on education, early intervention, and compassionate, comprehensive care, something that the continuity and breadth of family medicine uniquely allows me to do.
Why did you choose the Community Based Family Medicine Residency program?
- I chose the Community-Based Family Medicine Residency program because I want to serve the community that has shaped me. Being born and raised in San Antonio, I feel a deep connection to this city and its people. I am committed to providing excellent, compassionate care to all patients, and this program offers the opportunity to do that while building relationships within my own community. Training here would allow me to give back in a meaningful way and continue growing as a physician in a setting that reflects the values and diversity I care deeply about.
