What are your particular clinical interests and why?

My clinical interests include a range of: Preventative Medicine, Public Health, & Lifestyle Medicine. The primary goals of these fields in medicine are to prevent the initial development of disease, detect early existing disease, and reduce complications of existing disease. Simply put, they are all about Health Promotion, which is vital in effectively combating disease at its root.

Why did you choose Family Medicine?

I believe family medicine physicians play an important role within different organizational levels in Health Care whether in physician groups, academic institutions, community organizations, or professional societies. Within these, family medicine physicians are integral in educating patients on Health & Wellness. Health education is my ultimate passion, and this is ultimately why I chose Family Medicine.

Why did you choose the Community Based Family Medicine Residency program?

I chose the Community Based Family Medicine Residency program because of its emphasis on compassionate, outpatient care towards our underserved patient population. I love the variety and the continuity of care found in this residency program, as well as the opportunities to get involved with community outreach in order to practice medicine and promote health. Additionally, this program has outstanding attending physicians who love to teach and this ultimately makes all the difference in my training and journey to become a Family Medicine physician.

What are your hobbies and interests outside of medicine?

Outside of medicine, my hobbies include music, dance, and art. I enjoy teaching piano and music theory, and have competed in various dance competitions. I also create art as way to destress using epoxy resin as my medium which is a fun way to express myself.

In my free time, I love to go hiking with my dog. I have a German Shepherd-Belgian Malinois mix who is a very high-energy dog that enjoys always being active and helps keep me fit!
