What is your hometown?

  • Puerto Rico.

Where did you attend medical school?

  • University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

What other educational credentials do you have?

  • Bachelors in Biology.
  • Minor in Chemistry.

What are your particular clinical interests and why?

  • I am interested in Dermatology, Rheumatology, Allergy and Musculoskeletal disorders because it is rewarding to treat complex multi-system disorders that can be debilitating to the patient’s quality of life and daily function.

What inspired you to pursue a career in family medicine?

  • Family medicine provides the privilege to know patients better than anyone else to better advocate for them and the needs of the community.

Why did you choose the Community Based Family Medicine Residency program?

  • I enjoy serving underserved populations because it is rewarding to empower those with less resources to have access to healthcare, so their health won’t get in the way of their goals. Similarly, I am interested in public health because an individual’s health is greatly affected by the community that they live in. A community-based family medicine program provides more opportunities to learn about the needs of the community to better serve and care for the individuals living in it.
